Almetek Industries hosted its annual Health and Safety Week May 6th-May 10th. This is an annual event organized by our Human Resources Generalist and Safety Manager to educate and inform our team how to protect themselves in the workplace and live a healthy lifestyle through educational programs.

We started the week off with a visit from our friends at the Mount Olive Township Fire Marshal’s Office. The fire inspector spoke with us about fire safety, prevention, and awareness. The fire Marshalls conducted fire Extinguisher Training for all required and non-required employees which helps fulfil their annual Fire Extinguisher Training.

Our Safety Manager spoke with us about different ways to keep ourselves safe while working around the factory and offices. Topics included lockout/tagout methods and safe operating practices around manufacturing equipment.

The last day of Health and Safety Week centered on health and fitness. Almetek hosted vision screenings available to all employees. This was a great opportunity for employees to access convenient vision checks. We ended the day on Friday with a fitness class. A local Personal Trainer instructed us through a vigorous workout routine.

Health and Safety Week is the most important week of the year at Almetek. We take safety seriously every day, however, this is an excellent opportunity to revisit important subjects and to be reminded on how to keep ourselves and coworkers safe.
