The Rotary Club of Lake Hopatcong started the first ever Storm Drain Marking Service Project partnering with Almetek Industries in Hopatcong, NJ! On November 7th, 2022, a team of members went around Lake Hopatcong and marked the first 25 storm drains on roads that drain directly to the lake.
The goal of the project is to raise awareness in the community about Stormwater Pollution Prevention and to keep Lake Hopatcong clean and pollutant free. Almetek Industries made an initial donation of 100 metal Storm Drain Markers and supplies to help get the project started. The Rotary Club of Lake Hopatcong is reaching out to other Rotary Clubs in neighboring communities and volunteer organizations to increase the amount of storm drains marked.
